The Assembly of the City of Zrenjanin made a decision at the session on December 20, 2018 to transfer the Memorial House of Slavko Županski together with the movable property owned by the City of Zrenjanin to the management and use of the National Museum of Zrenjanin, thus achieving the basic conditions for the building to become an annex in the future. i.e. advanced department of this institution. The next step was to amend the Statute of the National Museum, which was approved by the Zrenjanin City Assembly on June 26, 2019, based on the proposal of the Board of Directors from April 17.
Since the spring of the 2019, the Museum’s experts have been working on the selection and classification of materials by collection, analysis and inventory of objects, while conservation and restoration treatments were also carried out on a part of the objects. During the commemoration of 101 years since the establishment of the Serbian National Committee, on October 31st, 2019, a wreath was laid on the house of Dr. Slavko Županski, and after that the Museum, as host, opened the doors of the memorial house, which in a way gave this annex a preview. City officials, descendants of Slavko Županski, representatives of various associations and other admirers took part in the tour of the partially decorated house.
At the beginning of December 2019, the promotion of the “Slavko Županski Memorial House” catalog and the announced film “Dragiša Brašovan – master of scenography of life” were held in the Županski house, which are part of a wider project whose goal is the realization of a permanent exhibition.
